Where we meet, What we do!

Open Sky Shambhala Meditation Group of Eugene and Springfield meets on Tuesday evenings for sitting meditation (with walking meditation) from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. (doors open at 6:00 p.m.), followed by a class or book study with discussion, from 7:30 to 8:30 pm.  Meditation instruction is free, and offered from 6 to 6:30 pm; our community often socializes, “schmoozes”, has a snack, tea or coffee. It’s a good time to get to know us, see our shrine room, check out our upcoming events!

We also have group sitting meditation on Thursday nights, from 7 to 8 p.m. (doors open at 6:45). This is a lean, practical session for those who have already had meditation instruction, want the benefits of group practice but also want to get home to study for class, be with family, or get some rest.

100 West Q. Street, Springfield, Oregon -upstairs in the Strata Forestry building

Q. Street is parallel to HWY 126 (and adjacent to it). HWY 126 is the extension of I-105 after it crosses I-5 going west. Q. St. is perpendicular to Pioneer Parkway, and 100 W. Q. Street is a couple of business lots West of the Walgreens store on the corner of Pioneer Parkway and Q. St., on the same side of the street, immediately past a massive billboard.

From the West: Take I-105 West from Coburg Road, and cross I-5.  After crossing I-5, take the first exit, marked Springfield City Center. From the left exit lane, turn left onto Pioneer Parkway, and immediately turn left at the light that is a few feet after emerging from the overpass which is above you. As you are turning, you will see Walgreens on the right far corner. Proceeding on Q. St. a few business lots, just past a massive billboard on your right, turn into the parking lot. You are at the Strata Forestry Building. Enter the Open Sky Shambhala Group by ascending the stairs on the South side of the building facing the street.

From the East: Coming from the east on HWY 126, take the Springfield City Center exit and continue to, and across Pioneer Parkway at the light, passing the Walgreens store on the far right corner. Moving to the right lane on Q. Street, turn into 100 West Q. Street, on the right, just after the tall billboard .
